Just getting dad's house ready for summer, and was checking out the sprinkler system. I noticed the light for the rain sensor on the controller was flashing. (The controller is a Hunter and the sensor is Toro). After reading the directions for the rain sensor, that indicated the the controller was not getting a signal from the outdoor sensor. I figured the batteries were dead in the sensor, seeing it was five or six years old. The sensor directions stated the batteries were not replaceable, and to replace the sensor. The sensor is around $55... so I decided to pull the sensor apart to see for myself why I can't replace the batteries.... I had nothing to loose. Turns out they were easer to change, then getting the new batteries out of the package, and saved almost fifty bucks!
